HS Codes for Apparel and Textiles are used to classify garments, clothing accessories and other made-up textile products for international trade. In the Indian ITC-HS classification, Chapters 61, 62 and 63 cover major categories of ready-made garments and made-up textile articles.
This page provides a quick reference to commonly used classifications within these chapters. Always verify the complete ITC-HS code and applicable requirements before importing or exporting.
Chapter 61 covers articles of apparel and clothing accessories that are knitted or crocheted. Examples include T-shirts, jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, trousers and other knitted garments.
Chapter 62 covers articles of apparel and clothing accessories that are not knitted or crocheted. This includes many woven garments such as shirts, trousers, jackets, dresses and coats.
Chapter 63 covers other made-up textile articles, including various household and textile products, sets and other made-up articles. DGFT ITC-HS mapping includes Chapters 61–63 within its readymade garments and made-ups category.
